Johnson County Tax Sale Information

Johnson County will host its Delinquent Property Tax Sale Auction on October 1, 2024, in-person at the Johnson County Courthouse steps, starting at 10:00 AM. The auction will continue until  4:00 P.M.

Key Auction Details:

Terms of Sale:

  • Full Payment Required: Make cashier’s checks or money orders payable to the Johnson County District Clerk.
  • As-Is Sale: The County sells all properties “as is, where is” without warranty, including encroachments or other issues.
  • Non-Refundable: Purchasers receive a Sheriff or Constable’s deed without warranty, and the sale is final.

How to Participate:

  • Pre-Registration: Bidders must be ready with payment methods such as cashier’s checks or money orders. Pre-registration is not mandatory, but early arrival is encouraged.
  • Research: Visit Johnson County’s Tax Collection page for property listings and additional details. Be sure to perform thorough title research, as the sale does not guarantee a clear title.
  • Bid: On the day of the sale, registered bidders can place bids starting from the listed minimum amount, with full payment expected immediately after winning.
